This part of the website includes information about the Secondary Standards service area. Our team is part of the Learning and Schools service in Children and Young People's Services. Secondary Standards brings together the work of:

Secondary strategy team of consultants;
School Improvement Partners (SIPs);
Various projects including EiC

We also work closely with 14-19 and with BSF, both of whom have pages and links on this website. Secondary Standards staff also work closely with curriculum advisers in the CPD team.

Our team brings together support and advice for schools on learning, leadership and curriculum development and also monitoring and challenge on standards in secondary schools. The priorities for our work come from Newham's Children and Young People's Plan (CYPP) and we have included a link to this on the left.

Our most important area of work is to provide leadership in transforming learning in secondary schools and our two guiding priorities are to:

Enable all children and young people to achieve their full potential throughout their education and challenge schools to close the gap between achievement levels in Newham and nationally.
Promote choice and diversity through the transformation of the learning environment and the children’s workforce.
